Casillero del Diablo
It started as a rumor. It grew into a legend. Since DAf began working with wine in 2003, we’ve been fortunate enough to help spread the wine legend of Casillero del Diablo. Using many different formats and media, we’ve breathed fire and life into the brand’s story to connect with an increasingly global audience. Today Casillero del Diablo is available in over 130 countries and its legend is known around the world.
DAf used the concept of twist for this video, which was created for the largest winery in Latin America.
The success of this long-format project led to the creation of a 60 second commercial featured on CNN, History Channel and TNT.
Concept, script, direction, live action and postproduction in HD for the worldwide campaign of Casillero del Diablo.
It was developed from brand design to TV, radio, cinema and DVD applications. This concept explains why the 2007 harvest is spectacular. The visuals are based on a harvest montage, 3D grape and narration by the best winemakers of Concha y Toro.
A television campaign for a world wide audience was the request of our client Concha y Toro. The main challenge was how to create the fire, with enough personality that it was able to tell the story of the disappearance of the product. The essence of the legend. The atmosphere created with golden particles detached from the fire makes the scene a magical one.
An original script brought a tale told by a storyteller. The innovation according to the art work is a mix between 2D dolls, as drawn from an old comic, with 3D scenes that create the atmosphere. Only the fire is the mixture of both techniques.
In this digital animation production, we work with the concept of cold, mixing fantasy with reality to show a freezing presence that inhabits the austral glaciers of Chile and travels north with the Humboldt current.
